6 Creative Ways to Keep Kids Busy This Summer

Summer is finally here, and school is finally out! While we love having the kids home for summer, the routine of going to the park and pool can get old quickly. Here are 6 creative ways you can beat boredom and keep kids busy during summer vacation.

1. Host a neighborhood scavenger hunt.

Scavenger hunts are a fun and exciting way to get kids outside with their friends. Make a checklist of 8-12 things for them to find and photograph-- a yellow house, the number nine, or an American flag--and host a friendly competition to see who can find everything on their list first.

2. Tour police or fire departments.

Many police and fire departments offer free tours of their station. Call ahead and ask if you can bring a group of kids to learn what their heroes do behind the scenes.
